THE VISITING DOCTOR PROGRAM:
This program is very active and appeals to physicians and dentists who wish to have a Third World medical or dental experience.
Comfortable air-conditioned guest accommodations are located on the second floor of the clinic building. Each room has a private bathroom with hot water shower. |
 |
Our resident cook provides three meals a day (dietary preferences are considered) and every effort is made to look after personal needs such a sightseeing and shopping. The large common room, with its library and TV, is an attractive area to unwind after a busy day. Wireless Internet is also available.
We have a full time watchman of the premises, so security is not a problem while living is the clinic building. |

ABOUT HONDURAS...
Located in Central America, Honduras is a lovely country which borders on the Caribbean and the Pacific. It has many mountains, tropical foliage, beautiful beaches and friendly people!! Some of the favorite’s tourist spots are the famous Mayan ruins in Copan, the gorgeous tropical rain forest of Pico Bonito, diving resorts of the Bay Islands, and Cuero y Salado, one of the largest wild life preserves in Latin America.
Honduras is one of the original 5 Central American Provinces (Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Costa Rica) that chose, after gaining independence from Spain in 1821, to remain individually independent. Although it has a history of military regimes, Honduras has now enjoyed over 30 years of uninterrupted democratic government.

The international airport in San Pedro Sula is about 20 minutes away from El Progreso.
Although the principal language spoken in Honduras is Spanish, English is understood in many retail stores, restaurants and businesses. The currency is the Lempira but US money and credit cards are also accepted by many businesses.
